A house that exists as a rare example of Mesian architecture in Houston needed to adapt to a changing family dynamic. The empty-nesters wanted to add program and update both the house and landscape to reflect their changing needs.
Originally designed in 1957 by Bolton & Barnstone there was a need for sensitivity and understanding of the existing house and the point in architectural time it represents. Faithful interpretation of details and form resulted in a seamless addition along with a complementary landscape.
