Fall time means harvest time. At the Sleepy Hollow Residence, Swiss chard, basil, and squash thrive among autumn colored marigolds. Basil leaves could be plucked tonight for a homemade pesto and the Swiss chard is ready for sauteing. The squash, a little smaller, may have to be saved for later; it should be oven-ready by Thanksgiving.
These gorgeous stairs making climbing up and down a treat. The circular stairway at the Seaside Residence evokes the coiled sheets of sailing boats, winding down through lavish light. At Longwood Farm, an elliptical stair twists upwards. Soft light washes in from upstairs as if the heavens were just a floor above.
