Chappell Hill Farm
The landscape design for this Texas Hill Country retreat ensures excellent views and advantageous breezes for the main residence. From the hilltop on which the house sits, a lake created from a former creek makes a picturesque feature in the valley below. Beds of native wildflowers and herbs divided by crushed gravel paths make a more formal gesture close to the house. Barns, storage sheds, and tennis courts of this working farm and family home are connected by a winding gravel road that passes through newly planted orchards and meadow. Maximizing views and privacy, landscape features both large and small work in concert to create a harmonious bucolic experience.
