Chappell Hill Farm
At first glance, the bucolic setting and idyllic assemblage of buildings of this Hill Country farm appear to have existed since the original Czech and German settlers first farmed this rolling countryside. Although an original cabin exists on this working farm, a new collection of buildings has been designed as a country retreat. A deep, full-length porch and sweeping roofline accent the main house in an iconic gesture typical of rural farm buildings of late 19th century Texas. The buildings are positioned to take advantage of southwesterly breezes and views to the lake, which was created from a creekbed to scale appropriately with the sweeping views of the countryside. A comprehensive landscape and garden design was undertaken by Curtis & Windham.
